Sound healing
We offer a range of sound therapies, with special focus on the powerful instrument of holistic healing - the planetary gong of the moon, among other sacred instruments, and voice, through ancient techniques, with the ever present focused intention to balance polarities and harmonize: a shamanic healing session, in that sense. These are holistic therapies because they operate on physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels.
Generally, the receiver(s) lie comfortably on a mattress, covered with a blanket to stay warm, and close their eyes: this allows for optimal receptivity. As the body becomes still in this ocean of sound, and relaxation flows through every muscle, a reality is entered in which the other senses are brought to a rest and the only thing that exists are the oscillating tides of holistic resonance, promoting the elevation and integration of states of consciousness and leading to sensations of weightlessness, dematerialization and ego dissolution.
The gong is an idiophone: an instrument that vibrates as a whole, as opposed to those that depend on strings or membranes. Struck or through friction, it unleashes waves of highly resonant earthly and cosmic sounds that fill the space and permeate every atom. The immersion in the electromagnetic field generated by the vibration of the alloys that compose the gong affects every cell in the body, and because it is so rich in audible harmonics, the frequencies that are in play have a highly therapeutic potential. Harmonics, or overtones, are the pure constituents of sound: they are literally pure energy. This can serve as a very powerful tool for vibrational “repatterning”, in other words, a way of re-programming our physical, mental and emotional selves with a more harmonious, natural, in tune pattern.
Other rich-in-audible-harmonics instruments from various cultural traditions will also be used to lead the receiver(s) through intricate and complex sound landscapes, allowing for a profound acoustic journey into the universe of audible frequencies. Tibetan singing bowls, tingsha cymbals, didgeridoo, shruti box, among many others; all these instruments are traditionally ritualistic and have a long history of shamanic or otherwise healing use. The voice, through mantras and overtone singing, will also play an important role in the experience since it is the most direct means through which focused intention can be conveyed to someone wishing to be healed. Every session will be a strongly intuitive improvisation and a sacred healing space is created and shared between everyone involved.
